As the President and Founder of the Madawaska Four Corners Park I would like to plead for your help.
The Madawaska Four Corners Park was awarded a grant of $10,000 from the Vanguard Charitable Endowment Program. The generous donation was on behalf of the Charles Lamb Family Trust Fund. Mr. Lamb has traveled many times in Madawaska doing the Four Corners Tour and fell in love with the St. John Valley. During his visits, I took him out on ATV rides in our beautiful trails and showed him the breathtaking vistas of our valley. During his recent visit I had a long talk with him about the acquisition of the Madore property in order to expand the park and create a well needed parking area and possible tourist information center.
Last month, Mr. Lamb contacted me with a proposition. The Charles Lamb Family Trust Fund is committed to match dollar for dollar any amount the community donates for the acquisition/improvement of the Madore property. This is a huge opportunity for the Town of Madawaska. An opportunity to beautify the town and improve the appearance of Main Street (without tax dollars!)
We already have received $10,000 and as soon as we’ve marched that amount, the Vanguard Charitable Endowment Program will issue us another $10,000…up to $35,000!!!!
The Madawaska Four Corners Park is a registered 501 (c) (3) and operates independently. The granite monument, tables, benches, tool shed and everything else has been purchases/sponsored by generous individuals and by the sale of pavers. Except for some minor labor, we’ve never requested money to the Town of Madawaska. We have no debt and our operating expenses are paid with the sale of pavers, stickers, t-shirts and the kind donations of individuals and business as well as tourists and Four Corners Tour participants.
Would you help us? Don’t forget, you donation will be matched by Mr. Lamb, so it’s like you’ve doubled your donation! The Madawaska Four Corner Park desperately needs your help. As a business owner or proud resident of Madawaska, I plead with you to help us raise the money we need. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
You can mail your check/money order to the address above. If you prefer to donate by cash, please call 436-7451 and I will be more than happy to pick up your donation. You may also donate through a credit card by calling our Treasurer at 728-6404.
I urge you to visit our web site at www.madawaskafourcorners.org for up to date information on our fundraiser.
Sincerely,
Joe LaChance, President
