I and two friends will begin the 4 Corners Ride next week, September 20th, starting in Blaine and ending in Madawaska, before returning to our home in Denver. We will do about 9,000 miles in 21 days. I decided to make it a fund raising event for the benefit of The Action Center in Lakewood, CO. It is an organization that helps over 160 families every day of the year, almost half of whom are children under the age of 18. We would very much appreciate your support on our adventure. Log on to www.ridetothecorners.org to see what it's all about. Our goal is to raise at least $10,000.00 for them. For anyone who is contemplating doing the 4 Corners in the future, why not do it for a worthy cause instead of just for fun? It can only add to the enjoyment of a unique adventure!

Outstanding idea.......
I am also going to be doing the 4 Corners Ride next May (scheduled to leave San Diego on Saturday the 4th). I will buzz down to San Ysidro which is only about 10 miles from my house, then north to Blaine, east to Madawaska, south to Key West, then west back home.
I also have given it some thought of doing something similar, i.e. American Cancer Society (my Father pasted away in March due to prostate cancer, and my Grandfather died of Lung Cancer several years ago); or something to do with our Military (I'm a Navy Veteran, and do a lot of Poker Runs, etc around San Diego for various organizations).
I will check out your site today. Are you going to be having daily reports, etc. of your ride?

Gentleman:
I applaud your decision to take the USA4Corners ride and I know you'll find it a ride of a lifetime. In addition, your efforts to raise money through your ride is fantastic. At the end of your ride please let us know how much money you finally raised. When I did the ride in 2010 I also raised several thousand dollars for Cruisin' for a Cure, an organization to provide prostate cancer awareness to men. I found, as will you, when it gets cold, hot or wet, knowing people are relying on you to complete your ride makes the discomfort very bearable. I applaud your decision to do the ride for you AND others.
I am the Vice Chair of the SCMA and will watch your progress as you travel the perimeter of this great country. As you travel north from San Ysidro or South from Blaine and travel through Orange County California, please let me know and I'll be happy to join you for a soda, lunch, dinner or coffee. It doesn't matter if it's 3 in the afternoon or 3 in the morning, if you get ahold of me (and I'm in town) I'd be honored to meet you.
Please private message me and I'll provide information so you can reach me, if you wish.
Good luck and safe travels!
Kid

I will check out your site today. Are you going to be having daily reports, etc. of your ride? EXCELLENT!!! The same goes to you for what I just posted to Don about. Also, since u r not setteled on what charity, if I may ever be so bold to suggest a charity. And it is not even my ride. But that does not stop me from humbly expressing my opinion. It is my understanding that the cancer foundation has literally MILLIONs of unspent $$$ if u were to check their annual government reporting form...I forgot the name of that form. I know how importnat cancer is considering my mother died from it, I had cancerous liesions removed from my skin etc..... If I may suggest, a military charity as you noted in your post above. We (I) can not do enough for our guys and gals in ANY of the MANY charities across the USA. If it was not for them, we would be speaking German, Chinese, or possibly Japanese, etc..... and still have our FREEDOM. It is ur ride, ur choice. I will shut up now and mind my own business. Whatever your choice is I will support it. BuzzCap7

Thank you ALL for your support! It's way more than I could have imagined. I guess the word will continue to spread, and who knows what will come of it all. It's exciting for me and my two riding buddies.
All the best,
Don

Not sure. They left San Ysidro Saturday afternoon heading to Yuma, however Don told me they went on to Gila Bend for Saturday nights stay, then heading toward Van Horn TX Sunday. I received a email from him from Gila Bend though.
Haven't seen any further updates either.

I always feel bad about interrupting anyone during a ride. It seems like they always have enough other things going on. So u ask away and I will hide behind ur skirt. LOL It is okay if you do not bring it up. I am thinking maybe the timezone in his SPOT account may not be correct but then, it should not matter. I think it is local real time not zulu or anything else. I'll be quiet now and get back to hiding behind you. Peeooowwww.... BuzzCap7

Our www.ridetothecorners.org ride is now complete. We raised over $3,000.00 for The Action Center in Lakewood, CO. They were most appreciative. We rode 9,200 miles in 19 days, completing the 4 Corners portion in 14 days at 6,922 miles. We met a lot of great people along the way as well as two very special SCMA members, Elliot Watts in San Ysidro and Mark Lenson in Boca Raton. Go to our web site if you care to read more about our travels. Thank you all for your interest and support. Don Adis
