Nitrogen in lieu of air to fill tires have been on the increase for the last several years for motorcycles. They have been used in cars for a lot longer period of time.
Using nitro is supposed to maintain your tires pressure longer than air.
In my expereince, using nitro has maintained tire pressure far superior to air.
In the past, I would "top off" my tires every 2 but normally 3 weeks. Now, it is rare I have to top them off at all since I am using "nitro" in my tires.
Normally, I will wear the tire out before it needs more nitro or I would need to top it off maybe once before they are replaced.
IMHO, using nitro: 1) Increased my safety of having properly inflated tires. 2) Decreased the number of times I need to check the tires. 3) Increased how many miles I can get out of the tire. 4) And I guess in theory, with the correct tire pressure I am getting better mileage than using air and running the tires a little low.
